The Skills Camp is a day camp specifically designed for middle school boys. Our mission is to teach skills that have been left out of the school curriculum but can help boys to be more independent and prepared for real life. The Skills Camp jam-packs as many skills, sports, and social activities as possible into one week. Our solution to this problem is unique because we were in school not too long ago, so we know what types of skills kids are missing and how to incorporate them in a fun way. Our curriculum covers many different realms of life and can help boys to feel more prepared and confident in their abilities. We also incorporate sports and fun activities they can do at home with their friends, so they stay entertained and can try out new possible hobbies.

Preparing for the Future
As we have gotten older, we have seen a huge shift in how prepared boys are physically and emotionally. Phones, technology, and video games have left many boys with underdeveloped physical and social skills. An essential part of becoming successful is having mentors to look up to. We want to model that for our campers. There is value in having youth interact with older college students in a positive and productive manner. Our counselors grew up in South Tampa and are the kind of people kids can relate to and look up to as mentors. Our mission is to show that being involved and knowledgeable is cool!
