Frequently Asked Questions

Is there before and aftercare?

Yes! It will be 10$ per hour.

Early Care: 8:00 am – 9:00 am

Camp Time: 9:00 – 3:00 pm

After Care: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Can I sign my son up for both sessions?

Yes! Some of the skills will be repeated, but it may help them to master the skills!

Is there a camp for girls?

In future summers we hope to have a camp for girls, but this summer our curriculum is geared toward boys. Due to a limited number of mentors/counselors who would be a great fit for a girls’ camp, we chose to stick with boys. We are confident that the counselors we have now will excel in assisting our campers in their personal growth journey.

Is lunch provided?

Yes! Lunch is included, but very picky eaters may want to pack a lunch.

Are electronics allowed?

Phones, iPads, and other electronics are not allowed! We will take them away and reintroduce at the end of the week to teach them how to properly use (or not use) phones around others.

What is the age cut off?

Incoming 6th graders through rising 8th graders.

What is the staff-to-camper ratio?

Because we know learning skills requires individualized attention for each camper, our ratio is 1 counselor for every 6 students!

What is a typical day like?

When students arrive, we will play a game to get them alert and excited for the day. Then we will start introducing skills. There will be an extensive array of skills like how to cook a meal, how to operate a lawn mower, how to talk to adults with eye contact, and various other activities that will be broken up with fun games and sports to keep them engaged. There will also be a 45-minute break for lunch. Some days will walk around the property learning maintenance skills and helping the church to complete many of their housekeeping tasks that our campers can implement at home.

Who are the staff?

All our staff members grew up in South Tampa and remain involved in the community.  We ensure that each counselor is someone that the boys can look up to as a great model of character and leadership. They were each hand-picked based on their ability to educate, great social skills, and knowledge of traditional skills. Our business model is built off the knowledge that these counselors will be great mentors! We also do background checks on all our counselors.
